Toe Su Aung, director Toe Su is Director of Elipe Limited which she founded in 2014. Elipe supports major brand owners in fashion and apparel, luxury goods, consumer goods and other sectors on policy and strategy in relation to Intellectual Property, Digital, Business & Human Rights and Sustainability issues. She has extensive experience in helping brands and platforms around the world cooperate and collaborate on brand protection issues globally.

Before establishing Elipe, Toe Su performed a variety of roles in British American Tobacco (BAT), based mainly in London, for over 15 years. She led legal and corporate affairs teams on IP protection and policy as well as driving global strategies for addressing illicit trade globally.

Toe Su has worked with many trade associations on IP policy and in 2013 she was elected the first Asian President of INTA. She is currently Chair of the INTA Foundation.

She is qualified as a Solicitor in both the UK and Singapore.
P. Suriya Prabha, consultant policy advisor P. Suriya Prabha is consultant policy advisor with Elipe and a lawyer specializing in international trade, intellectual property law, and global governance. She operates between Europe and India and she works with international business organizations, non-governmental organisations and multinational corporations. Her focus areas include anti-illicit trade and anti-counterfeiting law and policy, brand protection strategies including on e-commerce, capacity-building and consumer protection. She engages with several national governments and intergovernmental organisations including the United Nations family, the EU and the OECD. Prior to consulting for Elipe she engaged with the International Chamber of Commerce to lead their work in Asia on anti-counterfeiting policy and advocacy. She holds a LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law from the National University of Singapore and is admitted to the All India Bar. She is fluent in English, French, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi.
Sam Irving, associate Sam is an associate with Elipe, consulting in intellectual property and digital issues. He assists in managing projects for major global brands and associations, developing best practice papers and engaging with intermediaries, government and law enforcement authorities. He also sits on the International Trademark Association's (INTA) Anti-Counterfeiting Committee for 2022-23.

Prior to joining Elipe, Sam has a background in Chinese Language and Culture, having studied at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China, as well as spending two further years working in Jiangsu province and the Xinjiang Autonomous Region.

Sam’s hobby is in improvisation and he is an accomplished improviser and creative director with Scotland’s two largest improvised theatre companies – Men With Coconuts and the Spontaneous Players.
James Nurton, consultant James Nurton is a consultant with Elipe focusing on emerging issues such as IP and Climate Change and the evolving IP issues on social media. He is a writer and editor specialising in intellectual property law, business and policy. Previously, he worked for Managing Intellectual Property, latterly as managing editor responsible for all the editorial content in Managing IP magazine, managingip.com, conference newspapers, social media and at events. He has written articles and reports published by WIPO Magazine, EUIPO Alicante News, IPWatchdog, IPKat, Bloomsbury Professional Publishing, WIPR, World Trademark Review and The Patent Lawyer magazine, and contributed to the book ‘The Great Catapult: How Integrated IP Management Will Shoot Your Brand to Success’ written by Zeeger Vink. James is also an editorial consultant for MARQUES and host of the Talking MARQUES podcast and has hosted several episodes of the EPO’s Talk Innovation podcast. He is also a co-founder of Lextel Partners.
